Description

Name: Common tansy (Tanacetum Vulgare)
Classification:Noxious
Recognizable features:

  • Stem: several stems in a cluster, branched, up to 2 m tall
  • Leaves: alternate, deeply divided into toothed segments
  • Flowers; small yellow flowers grouped into button-like heads, 1 cm wide, 20 - 200 flower heads/plant arranged in a flat topped cluster
  • General: Aromatic perennial that spreads by seed and short underground horizontal stems (rhizomes). Forms dense patches. Toxic to animals.
