Assessment

The Assessment business unit annually prepares, communicates and defends property and business assessments for the municipality of Calgary using the market value standard for property and typical net annual rental value for business. Our role is to ensure The City of Calgary is able to rely on the revenue stream generated by the assessment and taxation process, and provide infrastructure programs and services.

2010 Property and Business Assessment Notices are scheduled to be mailed on Jan. 04, 2010.  

The Assessment business unit plans to mail 2010 Property and Business Assessment Notices on Jan. 04, 2010. The value reflected on your 2010 Assessment Notice will be based on the market value of property and the typical net annual rental value of your business space as of July 01, 2009.

Advance Consultation Period (Oct. 01-Nov.13, 2009)

The Assessment business unit invites non-residential property and business owners to participate in a customer service initiative, now in its third year, called the Advance Consultation Period. We encourage our non-residential property and business customers to contact our customer service centre at 403-268-2888 to participate in information exchanges prior to the finalization of the 2010 Assessement Notices.  For more information (non-residential property or business). 

Customer Review Period - (Jan. 04, 2010 for 60 days)

The Customer Review Period is an opportunity for property and business customers to review and ensure the fairness of your 2010 property and business assessment and to learn more about how assessments are determined.
