Transportation Solutions is a division of City Transportation Planning that focuses on innovative solutions to urban transportation challenges.
Areas of current activity include:
- Community and city-wide planning for walkability
- Cycling solutions to transportation needs including:
- Bicycle parking
- Park-n-bike sites
- Bicycle safety
- Education
- Commuter choices for effective travel
- Escape the rush
- Community transportation traffic and neighbourhood traffic studies.
Transportation Solutions has developed the Pedestrian and Bicycle Policy and Design Reports. The goal of these policies is to continue to improve the design of walking and cycling transportation facilities in the City of Calgary. This can be achieved by providing well-designed, direct, convenient, safe and comfortable pedestrian and bicycle routes and facilities. These policies form the basis for future design guidelines for walking and cycling projects within Calgary.
