City of Calgary Labour Market Opinions
A job offer from a Canadian employer is required to apply for a Work Permit. All job offers must have prior approval by Service Canada, an arm of the federal government. This approval is known as a Labour Market Opinion (LMO).
In 2008, The City of Calgary requested a limited number of LMOs for specific positions. At present, these LMOs have expired and we are not pursing international recruitment. However, we will, as appropriate, employ individuals who possess open work permits or who are eligible to work under an LMO exempt category.
