The City of Calgary Recreation provides Spring Golf Lessons (113KB) for adults, women, juniors and seniors at McCall Lake, Confederation Park and Shaganappi Point Golf Courses.

National Golf Academy Philosophy:

Congratulations to Terry Carter who has won the 2009 PGA of Alberta Teacher of the Year Award! And congratulations is also extend to Grant Cook with the National Golf Academy who was also nominated for the award as well.

To make sure that each and every student has an integrated understanding of the basic golf principles and mechanics. Our Golf Professionals, take great pride in making sure these basic fundamentals are in tact before moving to the next stage of golf development.

Throughout the entire process the student's progress is observed and fine tuning is implemented each step of the way. An individual plan is developed to allow the student to reach their goals, regardless of their level of ability. The main objective is to make sure the student leaves each lesson with a full understanding of what and how to practice.

The committed student steps into to taking full responsibility in doing the drills and regular practice so that they can find their natural swing which will maximize their golfing potential.

Teaching golf is like creating a timeless piece of art. The more passion invested, the student's success effortlessly unfolds. In the unfolding the more dedicated they become to this creative process, the more quickly they meet their expectations and goals.

Numerous game improvement programs are offered, including swing fundamentals, short game skills, putting, mental focus, visualization, on-course training, and competitive preparation. The competitive preparations have allowed several of our students to be awarded golf scholarships and currently play at various colleges in the U.S.

Teaching is our passion. It is the passion experienced over the last 20 years that ignites the success our students enjoy and appreciate. Some people get up in the morning and make sales calls, others make cars, The National Golf Academy makes great golfers.
