Transportation Infrastructure is responsible for several major construction projects in the city, including the Glenmore Trail / Elbow Drive / 5 Street S.W. Interchange, 16 Avenue North Urban Corridor Project and extending the Northeast and Northwest LRT lines.
Transportation Infrastructure is also handling several smaller scale projects such as the Noise Attenuation Retrofit Program and Traffic Calming initiatives around the city.
Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation
is responsible for improvements to Deerfoot Trail and Stoney Trail because they are considered provincial roadways. The Calgary Ring Road project is also managed by the province. The City's Transportation Planning business unit is representing The City with Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation to coordinate public engagement and construction.
