PC - Parent and Child Shinny - 6 - 12 years + parent (full equipment required)
YS - Youth Shinny - 13 - 17 years (full equipment required)
A - Adult Shinny - 18+ years (full equipment strongly recommended)

Shinny hockey is subject to cancellation due to special events and holidays. Please refer to the shinny hockey cancellations or call 3-1-1 or (403) 268-CITY (2489) - if calling from outside Calgary.

Statutory Holidays Shinny Schedule:

Southland and Village Square Leisure Centre's run shinny hockey on statutory holidays from noon - 1:30 p.m.

Shinny Hockey Rules:

• Full hockey equipment and CSA approved hockey helmets are mandatory for children and youth 17 years and under are strongly recommended for all participants.
• Maximum 26 players including two goalies (first two goalies free of charge).
• No slap shots or body checks.
• Players should rotate shifts to allow fair ice time. Shifts should not exceed 3 minutes per player.
• Parent & Child Shinny for 6 – 12 years + parent. (Program is geared for children — full equipment required).
• Youth Shinny for 13 – 17 years (Full equipment required).
• Adult Shinny for 18 years and up (Full equipment strongly recommended).
• Payments accepted 30 minutes prior to scheduled start of shinny on a first come basis.
