Bleacher permit (for the Calgary Stampede)

Block Party permit option 1: applicant agrees to obtain and place barricades to safely close the road

Block Party permit option 2: applicant agrees to have Roads deliver and pick up barricades and the applicant place the barricades to safely close the road

Bridge Overweight Vehicle permit

Directional Sign or Panel Installation permit

Excavation permit – for excavating or breaking the surface of the city road right-of-way (street, sidewalk, or boulevard)

Exceed Vehicle Load Restriction permit

Helicopter Landing permit

• $25 (plus GST) landing fee.
• $50 (plus GST) parking fee (30 minutes to 4 hours)
• $100 (plus GST) for parking over 4 hours to a maximum of 24 hours.

Hoarding permit for sidewalk.

• $23 (plus GST) per month for each linear metre of sidewalk up to 3 metres wide.
• $4.50 (plus GST) per month for each square metre of sidewalk greater than 3 metres wide.

Hoarding permit for minor street or alley.

• $23 (plus GST) per month for each linear metre of minor street or alley up to 2.5 metres wide.
• $9.50 (plus GST) per month for each square metre of minor street or alley greater than 2.5 metres wide.

Hoarding permit for major street or alley.

• $46 (plus GST) per month for each linear metre of major street or alley up to 2.5 metres wide.
• $18.50 (plus GST) per month for each square metre of major street or alley greater than 2.5 metres wide.

Horse-drawn Vehicle permit

Over-dimensional permit (daily, annual or coordinated)

Daily: $25 (no GST)
Annual: $50 (no GST)
Coordinated (escorts required):

• $128* (no GST)
• Signals Turning Fee:  $1479* (no GST)

Parade/Special Roadway Event permit. Application must include insurance and event plan. Permit is required 90 days prior to event.

Rickshaw/Pedicab permit

Special Parking permit  (25 KB) - issued to contractors only, to park in residential parking zones while working. If meters are present, contractors must apply for a Street Use Permit.

To initiate an application, fill out the PDF form and fax it to the Traffic Engineering Service Counter at
403-268-5850.

Special Truck Route permit (note: no permit is issued, only a letter granting approval for trucks on non-truck routes for special circumstances)

Street Use permit (for use of street/ sidewalk/ alley/ boulevard traffic control set-up or parking meter hooding)

• Daily use: $17.50 (plus GST)
• Parking meter hooding: $20 per meter (plus GST) plus $10-$30 (plus GST) per meter per day depending on meter location
