Find a Park or Pathway
With over 7500 hectares of land and approximately 700 Km of pathways available, the opportunities to get out in the fresh air are endless.

Things to do in Parks
From walking, riding or rollerblading along one of Calgary's many beautiful pathways in the summer months to tobogganing or ice skating when winter arrives, there are activities and events available all year long. Discover your favourite Park activities.

Natural Areas & Wetlands
Unlike manicured parks, natural areas are mainly comprised of native animal (fauna) and plant (flora) life, or are in the process of naturalization. These parks play an important role in protecting Calgary's wildlife by providing habitat for resident and migratory animals.

ENMAX Parks Program
The ENMAX Parks Program is a top priority for Council that aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the river valleys' park system. This program is aimed at protecting key watershed areas and establish extensive open space buffers along both the Bow and Elbow rivers.

BP BirthPlace Forest
The partners are proud to have contributed to planting over 62,000 trees and creating nine forests and registering over 33,000 babies since the first forest opened in 2001 in Elliston Park.

NeighbourWoods Program
The NeighbourWoods Program is a residential street tree planting initiative developed by The City of Calgary Parks to encourage citizens and communities to grow and preserve Calgary's urban forest. Discover how you can get involved.

Cemeteries
The City of Calgary encourages passive use of cemetery grounds for walking, cycling, nature observation and historical research. If you are interested in learning about the historical trends of memorial stones or the lives of the famous and not-so-famous, it's an opportunity to quietly step back in time.

Parks Management
Calgary is a city of parks and green spaces linked by pathways and interconnected green belts. The natural environment is perhaps our city's greatest asset to which we are deeply committed in protecting and preserving.

Parks Under Construction
Our committment to maintaining the vitality of our parks and natural areas, involves routinely upgrading established parks and natural areas as well as creating new parks to ensure their longevity and sustainability, and the safety of park users and the wildlife.
