Our programs are delivered by experienced educators and can be customized to meet your group’s needs and badge requirements. These programs are geared towards: Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies, Sparks, Junior Forest Wardens, day camps, home schools and community groups.

Age: 6 - 17 years
Length: 1.5 hours
Cost: $125 per program, maximum 30 participants and 5 chaperones

Animal Study

Wild animals may be just around the corner. Do you know how to recognize the signs? Become one of nature's wild things by learning to decode the clues animals leave behind. This program will have participants sharpening their senses, studying animal evidence and investigating a natural area with their newfound detective skills.

Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park (year-round); Reader Rock Garden (seasonal: June – September)

Pond Study

Explore the secrets of the underwater world without getting your feet wet! Participants will get an up-close view of the amazing creatures that live in the wetland and learn about their unusual adaptations and survival in a storm-water pond. This program will also empower participants to become part of the “pollution solution” for clean water.

Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park (seasonal: May – September)

Species Study

Looking to cross off another badge requirement? Join us at one of our nature centres for an in-depth study of different native species. Through interactive activities, games and a guided walk, participants will learn how to identify a variety of local trees, wildflowers, mammals and birds.

Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park (year-round); Reader Rock Garden (seasonal: June - September)

Bird Study

Create your own bird restaurant! Participants will learn about local bird species and explore the different seeds and feeders used to attract their favourite flyers. Each restaurateur will create their own pine cone suet feeder to bring home to their feathered friends.

Location: Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and Ralph Klein Park (year-round)
