Event planning resources

The City of Calgary is advising organizations and individual event organizers that all festivals and events in Calgary with an audience of 15 people or more, must be canceled or postponed through August 31, 2020. In addition, we are cancelling permits for third party events that were set to be held on City land through June 30 which means those events cannot proceed.

While we understand this is a difficult time for many organizations, this decision is aligned with Federal and Provincial direction on mass gatherings. New festival and event permit applications are not being accepted until further notice. We will continue to provide updates to our event partners as the City's response to COVID-19 progresses. At this time, it is impossible to predict how long this emergency will exist.

If the event cancellation date is to be extended past June 30, The City will notify Calgarians and event organizers.

Please visit https://www.alberta.ca/restrictions-on-gatherings-and-businesses.aspx for the latest updates and restrictions on gatherings.
