    Do you like treasure hunts? Try Geocaching in Calgary’s parks – you never know what you’ll find!
  2. Discover the animal themed Safari Splash Zone® with swinging bridges, dumping buckets, spray guns and five water slides at Village Square Leisure Centre
  3. Discover one of Calgary's most unique historic & cultural landscapes - Reader Rock Garden. Reserve a spot at Reader's Garden Café and soak up the ambience in the restored Reader house.
  4. If you or any member of your family is prone to climbing the walls, here’s a chance to do it for real. Try the new outdoor climbing wall at beltline.
  5. Up for a challenge? If you can cope with hills and can walk longer distances get the Shannon Terrace to Voltier’s Flats Intermediate pathway loop a try.
  6. A piece of history, interesting vegetation and wildlife. What more could you ask for? Weaselhead Flats has it all, plus great hiking trails! 
  7. Our new skateparks provide awesome opportunities to be active and have fun. Grab you skateboard, bmx, inline skates or scooter and check them out. 
  8. Like history? Take a trip through time and learn about the people, personalities and events that shaped our city. Join us for our free cemetery tours (not recommended for children under 9).
  9. “If a ball could dream it would want to be a Frisbee”.  Enjoy the beautiful promenades and archways while challenging yourself on the disk-golf course at Baker Park.

    Do you find the local gym too far away or cost too much to join? Enjoy free workouts at one of nine (9) parks with outdoor fitness equipment.
  11. “Willowmena” is an Alberta Heritage Tree (designated in 2008) that resides on the 8th Hole at Shaganappi Point – stop by, play a round and take a selfie with Willowmena.
  12. Catch a wave and you’re sitting on top of the world. Enjoy the wave pools and water parks at our leisure centres – Village Square & Southland
  13. Enjoy a relaxing nature walk at Carburn Park. This 3km loop beginner pathway loop
  14. New to golf? Feel intimidated? Stop by one of our beginner’s nights and learn to play in a fun relaxed environment with others of the same ability.
  15. Check out one of our Mobile Adventure Playgrounds – a new way for kids to play.
  16. Did you know there is a pathway that connects South Glenmore Park to the west end of Fish Creek Provincial Park? Discover 37th St SW Pathway this summer.
  17. Ah... the great sounds of Music in the Park. Enjoy the free summer concert series, various dates and locations.

  24. Grab a friend, rent a canoe and paddle in the lagoon at Bowness Park
  25. Relax and breathe... try a drop-in Tai Chi program at Thornhill Aquatic Centre.
  26. Strap in and get ready to crash! Bump, roll and flip while trying to score playing bubble soccer at the Calgary Soccer Centre.
  27. Grab your inline skates... there is drop-in rollerblading at Southland Leisure Centre all summer.
  28. What’s your racquet? Tennis? There are 66 outdoor tennis courts for you to choose from.
  29. Pack a lunch and picnic at Sandy Beach.
  30. Great for walking, rollerblading and cycling, the Nose Creek path is a must this summer
  31. Do you know where Baker Park is? Go explore the path less travelled.
  32. Sliders wanted! Like waterslides? Enjoy the thunderous adventure at Village Square Leisure Centre.
  33. Practice your swing.  Grab a bucket and head to one of our driving ranges - Shaganappi Point, Confederation or McCall Lake Golf Courses.
  34. Ever just wanted to sail away? Here’s your chance. Rent a sailboat (experience required ) or book a cruise for up to 6 on the “Jane Mary”.

  36. Great for all ages ... play some badminton. Drop-in schedules are available at Village Square & Southland.

  38. It’s almost 60 km round-trip! If you’re looking for a path less travelled hop on the Irrigation Canal pathway.
  39. Up up and away... go fly a kite at Nose Hill Park.
  40. Escape to the tropics... Hang out with parrots, fish and the hanging shark at Southland Leisure Centre. The water slides, spray guns and dump buckets guarantee hours of fun.
  41. Birds, birds, birds...  enjoy an easy stroll and see the birds on the 4 km loop from Pearce Estate to Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.
  42. We live in Canada... it’s always hockey season. Drop-in for some shinny or ice skating.
  43. There is live entertainment, face painting, bouncy castles, climbing walls, games, snacks and more at Unplug n’ Play (families). All free and unplugged.
  44. Bring your lawn chair, enjoy great snacks and live entertainment for the entire family at Lawn Chair Theatre.
  45. Explore the man-made wetlands at Ralph Klein Park while enjoying the picnic area and community orchard that boasts five varieties of pear trees and eight varieties of apple trees.
  46. Slap on the sunscreen and splash around at Stanley Park Outdoor Pool - 4011 1A St. S.W.
  47. Visit Engine 23 (a REAL fire truck!) at the Central location of the Calgary Public Library
