Coordinated social support

Calgary Housing Company (CHC) facilitates community and social support programs through agency partnerships in a city-wide initiative serving our residents based on the specific needs of their communities. This programming is achieved through:

  1. Community Resource Centres – CHC operates several Community Resource Centres in collaboration with lead and supplemental agencies. These centres are located on-site within Calgary Housing Company managed properties and deliver needed social supports to those residents.

    Supplemental agencies may provide on-going programming, or may be recruited for special events or purposes depending on the specific needs of the community. Areas of focus foster community involvement and social integration, and programming is tailored to the needs of the residents at each Community Resource Centre.

  2. Mobile Community Development - CHC collaborates with over 40 agencies to deliver on-site community development. Programming may be brought to residents within CHC managed properties and strives to reach residents in areas not currently serviced by a Community Resource Centre.

  3. Coordinated Outreach And In-Home Supports - CHC collaborates with over 100 agencies to coordinate social supports directly to residents in their homes based on their unique needs. Agencies coordinate with one another and may recruit additional assistance or provide a referral service as required. This is more concentrated, hands-on, one-on-one support with a broader and deeper scope of assistance.
