Project update: September 2019
Crews will be on site this month to start construction on the Stoney Trail and 14 Street NW interchange. Crews will start with earthworks, and construction on the interchange abutments until the site shuts down for the winter. We don't expect there to be any impacts to the existing ramps at Stoney Trail and 14 Street while crews are working this fall.
The anticipated construction completion is the summer of 2021.
Northwest Calgary (Panorama Hills and Evanston) has experienced significant population and traffic growth over the last few years. With these new developments, many of these communities access Stoney Trail and other parts of the city via four on and off ramps at 14 Street N.W. and interchanges at Beddington Trail N.W. and Centre Street/Harvest Hills Boulevard North.
The Stoney Trail and 14 Street NW interchange is a missing link to Stoney Trail between Beddington Trail N.W. and Centre Street/Harvest Hills Blvd N interchanges.
As part of the One Calgary budget, approved by City Council in 2018, The City of Calgary allocated funding to construct a number of interchanges along Stoney Trail NW. The first to move forward this summer is the Stoney Trail and 14 Street NW interchange.
As part of the 2019 - 2022 One Calgary budget, approved by City Council in 2018, The City of Calgary allocated funding to construct a number of projects along Stoney Trail NW. The design for these projects has not started, but is anticipated to begin in 2019.
