BTIPP - Change banks or bank accounts

Current BTIPP participants

If you currently pay your Business Improvement Area (BIA) tax by instalment through the Business Tax Instalment Payment Plan (BTIPP) and need to change your banking information, please advise Tax no later than the 22nd of the month prior to the next scheduled withdrawal to allow sufficient time for processing. Banking information change requests received after the 22nd of the month will be processed after the upcoming withdrawal.

If you have missed the 22nd of the month deadline to change your banking information, your old bank account will be debited for the next instalment. If that payment is returned by your bank, any resulting service charge(s) will apply. You will be required to pay the missed instalment plus any applicable service charge(s).

Own more than one business or location? If you own more than one business or have more than one location, be sure to include each affected account in your banking information change request.

Change banking information

To fill out our secure online form, you will need:

  • Business Identifier (BID) Number(s),
  • business location address(es), and
  • new and old banking information.

NOTE – When you have successfully submitted your banking information change request, the screen will display a success message. Print this screen for your records. You will NOT receive an email confirmation.

Are you the new owner of a business in a BIA?

If you have recently purchased a business and the previous owner was paying the BIA tax by instalment, do not submit a banking information change request.

You must request an agreement to join BTIPP.
