Credit and Collections
Credit and Collections is responsible for the collection of City of Calgary receivables, including Business Improvement Area (BIA) tax, property tax, and corporate invoices, as well as accepting and evaluating credit for customers that regularly utilize City services.
- The Alberta Municipal Government Act (MGA), regulations and City of Calgary bylaws provide the legislative authority to impose collection activity.
- A collection officer will take appropriate action as necessary to collect the balance in full.
Bankruptcy, Receivership and Foreclosure claims can be remitted to Credit and Collections using one of the methods below.

Limited access with physical distancing measures
There is limited access to the Municipal Building and we’re practicing physical distancing measures. You’re encouraged to use an alternative that is not in person. For those who must attend in person, there is limited access to the Municipal building. Citizens will be directed to one of two doors where security staff will help direct them. Due to physical distancing measures there may be delays as we’re limiting the amount of people in the building at one time.

24-hour deposit box is available. The deposit box is located at street level near Municipal Building (facing the Central Public Library) 801 3 Street S.E.
