The nomination period for the 2018 One City Awards has not yet been determined.

If you have ideas for 2018, review the nomination guide to plan ahead for a future submission.

The One City Awards is an opportunity for employees to recognize their colleagues and to be recognized by their colleagues. Everyone can nominate an individual or team for the One City Awards. Any employee or team can be nominated if they meet the eligibility and criteria.

To be eligible:

  • Nominees and nominators must be employees of The City of Calgary
  • Individuals are eligible to be nominated in any of the nine categories
  • Teams or groups are eligible to be nominated in all categories except the individual-only categories: Everyday Hero and Leadership

Nominators are encouraged to review the criteria for their award category carefully prior to submission as the criteria provides the basis for how the nominations will be assessed. Nominees should meet all the criteria listed in an award category. It is recommended that one nomination be submitted for one category. Please check the categories to see which one is the most appropriate for your nomination.

The evaluation process for the One City Awards aims to be fair, inclusive and transparent. A selection committee will be established with employees from across the organization. It will be tasked with reviewing all the nominations submitted, and determining the finalists and winners based on the award category criteria

The selection committee will include:

  • Representatives of different business units
  • Subject matter experts
  • Employees from various levels of the organization (e.g. exempt and union)
