Calgary was out in full force this week at Collision – North America’s fastest-growing tech conference. I’ve spent the last few days with my colleagues at Calgary Economic Development in Toronto selling the heck out of Calgary to more than 25,000 delegates representing over 5,600 companies who are at the forefront of some of the world’s most disruptive technology.

We also brought with us over 100 Calgary companies who are on the leading edge of that technology to make connections and cultivate their client base so they can continue to grow right here at home.

It’s absolutely critical that we’re out telling Calgary’s story right now, and we have an incredible story to tell. We have the world’s best talent that includes a highly-educated work force and people who are passionate about driving innovation. While the vacancy in our downtown has caused some real challenges, it also presents a big opportunity for companies looking to start or expand to prime real estate at great prices. Not to mention, Calgary is a great place to live. The Economist Intelligence Unit has called us the best place in the Western Hemisphere in which to live.

We have such an incredible opportunity in front of us as a city. I’m so lucky to be able to pitch this great place to any one that will listen.
