2019 Year in Review
It's the end of the decade!
Despite the shifting political reality at the provincial and federal level, Calgary continues to be a great place to live. Though our economic recovery is happening slower than any of us would like, your City government has taken great steps to provide the services you rely on while keeping residential taxes at the lowest rate in Canada. We opened new rec facilities, saw scooters everywhere we went, finished years of construction in the southwest, launched our Mental Health and Addictions Stewardship Group, began construction on the BMO Centre, and celebrated one year since the New Central Library opened.
I always appreciate the opportunity at the end of every year to reflect on what we've accomplished together. There have been ups and downs, and we certainly have a very busy year ahead of us, but before we dive into the new year, it's important to take the time to look back on all that's happened in 2019.
I wish you all a very merry Christmas, happy holidays and a wonderful new year!
