First Call for Ideas from the Steward Group on Mental Health and Addiction.
Last November, The City of Calgary convened the Stewardship Group on Mental Health and Addictions. That group, co-chaired by Dr. Chris Eagle and Karen Gosbee, has put forward it's first call for Fast Pilots - aimed at system navigation and access. We're asking you (whoever YOU are) to bring forward ideas on how to improve this.
And we've got $1 million to fund those ideas, big or small. Change Can't Wait!
Statistically, one in five Calgarians are dealing with a diagnosed issue related to mental health, and two-thirds of those don't or won't seek help. This means the lives and well-being of our friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, and community are at risk.
This also relates to our addictions crisis. One Calgarian dies every other day from an overdose. This has to stop.
We have incredible services available in this city, staffed and volunteer-driven by some of the most caring and compassionate people you or I will ever meet.
But if those that need help feel like they're navigating a maze to get it, then we'll never be able to overcome this challenge. So please check out the link, but more importantly, SHARE SHARE SHARE! We need to get every idea imaginable into the system so that we can make sure that no one gets lost along the way.
