Requests to the Mayor

The Mayor of Calgary receives many requests from Calgarians for official proclamations or letters for special events, birthdays, or anniversaries. To help us respond, we ask for specific information through the forms below.

Program letter from the Mayor

This is a short letter from the Mayor for a program or special event. It is an letter on Office of the Mayor letterhead rather than the formal Proclamation or letter of recognition (below).

Birthday or anniversary message from the Mayor

Would you like a congratulatory message from the Mayor sent to a Calgarian celebrating a birthday (75, 80 years and older) OR an anniversary (50 years or above)?

Proclamation or letter of recognition

Proclamations and letters of recognition are formal ceremonial documents signed by the Mayor. Proclamations officially recognize the importance of a charitable cause or event, an arts or cultural celebration, or a public awareness or fundraising campaign on a specific day, week or month.

Letters of recognition acknowledge a profession or an organization’s significant anniversary, milestone occasion, or historic commemoration on a specific day, week or month.
