August 2018 Newsletter
Thank you to everyone who came out in support of our annual Ward 2 Stampede BBQ on July 14th at Loblaws City Market in Sage Hill. It was a great show of our strong community spirit and I’m very thankful to all the volunteers who put in their time and effort to make it such a wonderful event!
The City of Calgary has made it easier to complete home improvement projects with a convenient to use online application process. Homeowners can now apply and pay for all home improvement projects online at calgary.ca/myhome and even book inspections using the 311 app. The online service allows homeowners to manage and coordinate all their home improvement projects online 24/7. There’s even an online chat feature to help answer your questions and guide you through the application process, should a permit be required.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and is taking the time to explore parts of Ward 2 and the City of Calgary. The Calgary Fire Department wants me to remind everyone of the risks on Calgary’s waterways. When you’re out enjoying Calgary’s rivers and lakes, remember to always wear a lifejacket, keep kids safe around water, eliminate the consumption and transportation of alcohol and drugs, bring the right supplies such as a paddle and cell phone and to call 9-1-1 if there’s an emergency on the water. If you would like to find out more, please visit calgary.ca/watersafety for additional details.
