Uncertainty & Hope: We stand united during this pandemic

Uncertainty & Hope: We stand united during this pandemic

In the past few weeks, I have been proud of the way Calgarians have listened to the advice of healthcare experts. Here in Ward 3, I have noted the respect that people are demonstrating by practising physical distancing when out, and I enjoy hearing about how you’ve adapted routines to manage online schooling or working from home.

I’m going to be honest with you about something else. This isolation period is difficult. It can be overwhelming to consider how long this will last, and how we will ever get back to some new state of normal. Some people are facing job loss, illness or disabilities that make this even more difficult.

So while all of us are putting on a brave face for those around us, I think it’s also important to talk about our struggles and be open about what we need from each other. That’s why I’m reaching out to you today.

I’m interested in what’s on your mind, whether it’s something that has you worried or it’s a desire to help out in the community. I’d like to take your feedback and work with community partners like Vivo, community associations, homeowners’ associations and Momentum to first identify your needs and then provide the programming and services you require right now.

If you’ll take a few minutes to anonymously answer these quick questions, we’ll make sure we find ways to keep Ward 3 strong and united during this pandemic.

Thank you for your time and please know that you’re not alone in this uncertain journey. I’m here for you.
