Ward 6 Jeff Davison

Born and raised in Ward 6, Jeff Davison is best known for his skill at bringing people together, finding common ground, and building policies and programs that help the whole community. Having spent over twenty years in the energy and technology sectors, Jeff was elected in 2017 to bring back a pro-business vision to City Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Calgary Municipal Land Corporation, Calgary Economic Development, and the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund.

A booster of Calgary’s multi-billion dollar creative and digital media industries, Jeff is also a Director of The Calgary Film Centre, helping the facility increase its occupancy rate from 20 percent to 100 percent between 2018 and early 2020.

After initial conversations between the City and Flames owners collapsed about a new arena deal collapsed, Jeff helped bring in independent third-party consultant Barry Munro to successfully broker a deal that was fair to both, and included a much bigger vision for creating an event centre around the existing Stampede grounds. The event centre deal has been well received by the public who believe that the new multi-functional facility is a critical component for supporting Calgary’s economic development by enhancing its reputation as an international attraction.

Jeff is also a Director for the Calgary Parking Authority and is vice-chair of the Green Line LRT Committee, which will be one of the largest single infrastructure investment by a municipality in Canadian history. Jeff has also been a volunteer with the Calgary Stampede Promotions Committee which supports thousands of Calgary and surrounding area not‐for‐profit events, and has served as a board member for the Missing Children's Society of Canada.

As a father to three young children, Jeff is committed to helping the City find a new growth strategy that builds on our strengths as an energy hub and entrepreneurial city while balancing economic, social, and environmental priorities. “Calgary knows it can compete on the world stage,” says Jeff. “The question isn’t, if, but how. My job is to help figure out the how.”
