City of Calgary Mask Bylaw
The City's mask bylaw comes into effect this Saturday, August 1. Masks must be worn in all indoor public spaces.
I've had businesses and citizens ask me how this bylaw will affect them. Essentially, if an indoor space is open to the public, masks are required by patrons (and staff) but the City is not expecting businesses to act as enforcers.
There are some exemptions:
-children under two years old
-while patrons are eating or drinking
-while patrons are participating in physical activity (working out)
-while patrons are receiving a service, like going to the dentist
-for those who are unable to wear a mask due to disabilities or medical conditions
I suggest reading the guide and downloading/printing the signage at the link below. The sign must be posted.
