Spring means warmer temperatures and sunshine. After what has seemed like a very long winter, these are very welcome signs. Another aspect of spring is the need to clean up.

Street sweeping in Calgary begins on April 19. Visit to learn more about the program. You can also input your address to determine when your street will be swept. You'll want to remove your vehicles so that your street can be properly cleaned. Calgary Parking Authority has information about enforcement. You may monitor the street sweeping progress by clicking here to view the map. View the schedule by community below:

In addition to street sweeping, the City partners with communities to offer Community Cleanups. These events make getting rid of items that don't fit in waste and recycling carts easy while helping save you a trip to the landfill. Learn about the items that are accepted at Community Cleanups by visiting the main page. Community Cleanups start on April 24 and go until September 26.

Finally, to aid in your spring yard cleanups, green cart collection will be moving to weekly beginning at the end of April. Check out the Green Cart website to learn about what can be composted in your cart and when your pickup day is.
