City of Calgary Food Action Plan – Calgary Eats!
The City of Calgary Food Action Plan – Calgary Eats! builds on community-led efforts to create a healthy, equal and sustainable food system. Its goal is for every Calgarian to have access to local, healthy and environmentally friendly food.
Calgary Food Bank Hamper Program
You must call ahead to book a hamper before picking it up. Once you have been approved, volunteers will book you a specific time to pick-up your hamper.
Hampers can be picked up at our main location (5000 11 St. S.E.) or one of our satellite locations. Specialty hampers available: renal, infant, celiac and prenatal.

Alex Community Food Centre
Free Meal to Go Program on Friday mornings from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Get a healthy frozen meal, fresh salad kit and fruit for you and your family.
Bi-weekly Affordable Produce Market every other Wednesday. Purchase fresh fruit, vegetables and more at a deeply discounted price and grab a free meal to go created by the Alex Community Food Centre kitchen team.
The Salvation Army Community Services
No-cost, emergency food hampers are available with up to two days' worth of non-perishable food and hygiene items. Delivery is available. Additional items can be requested including diapers, wipes and formula for infants or toddlers.
Dashmesh Culture Centre
No-cost, hot vegetarian meals and non-perishable goods are available for take-out. Place order on-site, inside the Dashmesh Culture Centre complex, near the Gurdwara Sahib entrance gate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Preorders available online (www.dashmesh.ca)
No-cost, non-perishable food and hygiene items available for pick-up (i.e. pasta, sauce, beans, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.). Donations also accepted. Pick up times Monday-Saturday 12-4 pm. Pre-orders available online (www.dashmesh.ca)
No-cost food hampers and basic needs items are available to seniors and Calgarians in self-isolation, quarantine or financial need. Delivery is available. Call to request service.
North East Family Connections - Connection Source Program
Offering support city-wide support during the COVID-19 crisis including connection to food sources, basic needs relief and over-the-phone support/check-ins as well - foodbank referrals, Good Food Box, and navigating free food access across the city. Also offering other basic needs support like furniture and clothing from our donations and referrals to WINS; DI free goods program; and Interfaith Furniture.

Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids
Offers grocery cards to families whose kids are doing at-home learning or temporarily isolating. Can connect kids doing in-person learning to in-school bagged lunch programs.
The Kerby Centre
Bread Market for Seniors
The Kerby Centre hosting a socially distanced Bread Market for Seniors. Bread as well additional rescued food items are available.
The Bread Market is hosted at the Kerby Centre’s gymnasium area and is following all COVID guidelines.
Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 am-12:30 pm. No need to register, just drop-in.
Delivery is available for older adults experiencing isolation, mobility, or financial concerns. Please contact the program to determine eligibility.
Muslim Family Network Society - Halal Food Bank
Provides Halal food hampers to individuals and families in need. Calgarians can access the Halal Food Bank 4-6 times a year depending on the circumstances. Proof of financial circumstances is required.

Priority will be given to those who have been impacted by COVID 19 (e.g., job loss, isolating, etc.). We will call you to confirm food hamper deliveries within 5 to 7 days.
Community Kitchen Program of Calgary: The Good Food Box
Low-cost boxes of fruits and vegetables are available for pick-up to all Calgarians. Boxes are available in three sizes:
- Small (20 - 25 pounds) = $25
- Medium (30 – 35 pounds) = $30
- Large (40 – 45 pounds) = $35

Meals on Wheels
Free delivery available within Calgary city limits. Pick up option is available. Payment is required online at the time of ordering; payment at the door is not available. Volunteers will continue to leave meals at clients’ doors or in a cooler, if provided.
In response to COVID-19, Meals on Wheels is currently offering discounts on My Choice single meals.

Greater Forest Lawn 55+ Society
Serving seniors in Greater Forest Lawn Communities including Dover, Forest Lawn, Erin Woods, Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Forest Heights, Southview, and Penbrooke Meadows.
Meal options for $5, including soups and stews, healthy meals and desserts, with free pick up or delivery. Gluten-free options are available.
Payment can be made via email money transfer, credit card, cheque or cash. If payment is not an option, meals may be delivered at no cost.
