We are excited to welcome you back and are working hard to reopen all of our services and facilities. However, due to operational or resourcing constraints some City service may take longer than others.

Below is a list of City services that are have not yet resumed their full service. 

Animal services

Fair Entry

Both Fair Entry locations are open with regular hours. Municipal Building and Village Square library have physical distancing requirements and capacity limits within the sites.

The application process involves a review from Event Services as well as other City departments and event-planning partners from the province. We have condensed our 90-day application process to 30 days.


We recommend that events with more than 150 participants control to access their site, that masks be worn, and that close contact tracing is incorporated into Event Management Plans. Visit and Events for more information

Municipal Building services

There is limited access to the Municipal Building. Visitors will be directed to one of two doors where security staff will help direct them.

  • Remote participation (live webcast) by members of the public will remain in place and is encouraged.  
  • Members of the public can make a written submission or register to speak via phone using the Public Submission Form.
  • If members of the public wish to attend a meeting in person, COVID-19 protocols remain in place in the Municipal Complex and Council Chamber.
City of Calgary Archives Status update:

Parks and outdoor spaces

The building is closed but the park and public washrooms are open. Masks are required in the washrooms. Physical distancing is recommended.

Cemeteries are open with physical distancing recommended. The Administration Office at Queen’s Park Cemetery is closed to walk-in inquiries, but open to essential services by appointment only. Masks are required during appointments at the Administration Office. Please call the Administration Office for inquiries
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary Status update:

The Nature Centre will be open from Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Masks are required when inside the Nature Centre and public washrooms. The outdoor space at The Sanctuary is open.
