100 Birthday Surprise!
Are you, a friend or relative turning 100 years old?
Do you need a way to celebrate from your driveway?
If so, submit a request for the Calgary Fire Department to drive by your house in trucks with flashing lights and sirens to help you celebrate your birthday!
Arrange this special birthday treat from Calgary’s first responders. It’s sure to bring a smile to the faces of your friends and neighbours.
What do I need to know before I apply?
Please give us at least two business days’ notice before the birthday. For example, if the birthday is on a Monday, submit the request before Thursday at 8 a.m. If the birthday is on a Friday, submit the request before Wednesday at 8 a.m.
If a request is received less than two business days before the birthday, we will not be able to accommodate the request.
We can only respond to requests within Calgary city limits and only for birthday girls and boys who are turning 100 years old.
This is for birthdays only and not for any other celebrations such as anniversaries etc.
During the pandemic, we encourage your friends and neighbours who want to take part in a Drive-By Birthday to maintain physical distancing guidelines and stay two metres away from each other. If a crew comes to your home and there are more than 15 people gathered there, or you are not maintaining the appropriate distance guidelines, the drive-by may not occur.
I understand the rules. How do I arrange a Drive-By Birthday?
You will not receive a confirmation email. To check the status of your request, please refer to your original booking email from 311 and click on the Check SR Status link.
Please note: We are first and foremost emergency responders. This service is not guaranteed as crews may be called to assist at an emergency. If your scheduled Drive-By Birthday doesn't happen, it means we were needed at an emergency elsewhere.
Due to this uncertainty, we would advise that you manage expectations with the birthday boy or girl.
We look forward to seeing you on your doorstep.
