New Calgary-specific provincial guidance to limit the spread of COVID-19 restricts indoor group sport and recreation activities for Grade 7 to 12 youth as of Monday, April 19. Calgary Recreation is working to respond to the new directives and will contact any impacted customers and partners.

We are working hard to respond to the recent provincial health orders to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Facility and program schedules

Arenas

Select arenas are open for skating lessons and can be booked for household, one-on-one and youth (under 18) group training activities. Trainers must be professional, certified, paid and provide active instruction. Public skate, shinny and walking track activities are not available.

Arts Centres

Currently closed.

Athletic parks and amenities

Select athletic parks are open for one-on-one, household and group training with a certified coach or paid trainer.

Calgary Soccer Centre

Indoor fields are open for one-on-one, household and youth (under 18) group training with a certified coach or paid trainer. Over 18 group training with a certified coach or paid trainer is also allowed on outdoor fields.

Drop-in soccer, games and walking track are not available at this time due to current public health restrictions.

Day Camps

Currently unavailable.

Free activities and programs

Free outdoor recreation opportunities are available in various locations across Calgary. Some require pre-registration while others are drop-in.

Golf courses

Select golf courses are open. More courses will open based on the weather.

Registration for Spring golf lessons is now available.

Indoor Pools, Fitness, and Leisure Centres

Select pools are open for swim lessons and can be booked for household, one-on-one and youth (under 18) group training activities. Trainers must be professional, certified, paid and provide active instruction. Public swimming and lane swimming are not available

Tennis Courts

Open for the season.
