New provincial guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19 will take effect at our recreation facilities on Friday, November 27. These restrictions include limits on capacity and permitted activities. City-operated facilities remain open for pre-booked appointments and individual bookings.

The City of Calgary hosted a fireworks display at midnight from the Calgary Tower.

Thanks to Tim Hortons, The City offered extended skating hours and free coffee at Olympic Plaza on New Year’s Eve until midnight.

Bowness Park had Christmas lights, firepits and extended hours on Dec. 31, 2019, with the park closing at 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2020

There were also many free and paid New Year's Eve events happening throughout our city for all citizens and visitors to enjoy.
