New Year's Eve Celebrations
Fireworks with CJSW 90.9FM
Ring in 2022 from the comfort and safety of home. In cooperation with CJSW 90.9 FM, we are presenting a livestream fireworks show set to a musical soundtrack featuring Canadian artists Lodgepole Kind, Thomas Thomas and Moonrunner83.
Be sure to tune in live at 11:55 p.m. for a blessing by Siksika Elder Clarence Wolfleg, countdown to midnight with Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek and the spectacular fireworks show from the iconic Calgary Tower.

What to do on New Year’s Eve
In addition to tuning into the livestream, there are a lot of other great ways to mark the New Year.

Outdoor winter activities
- Outdoor skating rinks
- Toboggan hills
- Winter fire pits
- The Olympic Plaza skating rink will be open on December 31, 2021, from 10 a.m. until midnight. Skate rentals will be available.
No public celebration or countdown will take place at Olympic Plaza on December 31, 2021.

As a result of the fireworks show, from 11:45 p.m. Dec. 31, 2021 to 12:15 a.m. Jan. 1, 2022:
● Centre Street S.E., from 6 Avenue S.E. to 9 Avenue S.E., will be closed
● 9 Avenue S.W., from 1 Street S.W. to 1 Avenue S.E., will be closed
● 9 Avenue S.W. south sidewalk, in front of the Calgary Tower, will be closed
