Project description
This intersection is being upgraded from the existing on and off access ramps to a new interchange that will connect the adjacent communities of Panorama Hills, Evanston, and Carrington. In addition to maintaining free-flow conditions along Stoney Trail, this interchange will be an important component in supporting the existing and future development in the area.
The new interchange is currently under construction and will utilize the existing ramps minimizing traffic impacts during construction. The interchange includes a four-lane bridge structure on 14 Street N.W. over Stoney Trail, two new merge loop ramps onto Stoney Trail, and tear drop traffic circles instead of traffic signals on the north and south sides of the bridge.
A new asphalt pathway and concrete sidewalk on the east and west side of the interchange will also improve pedestrian and cyclist connections in the area.
