Civic Census 2018

Interested in doing a job that counts?


We are recruiting census takers for the 2018 civic census data collection.


Applications are open January 22 to February 9, 2018.


 
Starting in late April, Census Takers will go door-to-door visiting homes in their assigned area to collect census information using tablets. Consider applying to become a Census Taker if you are:
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Available to collect census information and voter registration information starting late April.
  • Able to complete online training at home and in-person in March.
  • Able to walk in seasonable weather conditions.
  • Able to operate a tablet computer (training is provided).

You can download the  application form here and drop it off in person at the Election and Census Office at 1103 55 Av NE.

Applications are accepted in-person only and a written assessment test must be completed on-site at that time.

Applications are accepted Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm from January 22 to February 9, 2018.

Information collected through the census is used by The City for a variety of planning and program service delivery purposes, and by the Province to determine grants, if available.
