School programs

The City of Calgary Animal & Bylaw Services has been creating and presenting curriculum-based school programs since 1999.

  • Our programs are presented by experienced, certified teachers.
  • The presentations are interactive and directly connected to provincial curriculum outcomes.
  • The programs are available to students in grades K - 8 attending school in Calgary.
  • All programs are also available in French.
  • All programs are available at no cost to schools.

Our educators come to your school, present the program and supply the accompanying grade-appropriate resource materials for students and teachers.

Booking of school programs for the 2012-2013 school year will commence June 4, 2012. Please re-visit this page at that time to get your application form.

Bylaw education program for adult ESL learners

The City of Calgary Animal & Bylaw Services offers a visual and interactive program for adults that addresses the following questions:

  • What is the role of the municipal government?
  • What are bylaws and what is their purpose and importance?
  • How are bylaws created?
  • What are common bylaw issues and complaints?
  • What is the role of Animal & Bylaw Services?
  • What are your rights and responsibilities as a citizen of Calgary?
 
Participants are provided with resource material to take with them. The program is free of charge.
