Frank McCool Arena

Frank McCool Arena hosts minor and adult ice sport leagues including hockey and ringette. The arena is available for bookings from 6 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week during prime hockey season (October through March), requests outside of these hours will be considered. Adjacent to the arena is Frank McCool Athletic Park.

Our arena will reopen on April 11, 2018. We recently renovated, find out about our upgrades.

  • One 185' x 85' artificial ice surface
  • 250 person spectator seating capacity
For your safety and enjoyment helmets (CSA approved) are strongly recommended for all participants during ice activity and in particular for children and youth.

Frank McCool Arena renovation

 
This facility was closed in 2016 and 2017 to accommodate arena renovations. Originally scheduled to reopen in Fall 2018, the arena will reopen on April 11, 2018 to accommodate sport bookings and programming. Minor cosmetic and finishing work will continue at the facility.
 
Upgrades to the facility include:
  • Rebuilt and expanded change rooms, including new flex change rooms
  • New bleachers
  • Addition of a wheelchair accessible viewing platform
  • Roof replacement
  • New energy-efficient fixtures throughout the facility
  • Upgrades to electrical, plumbing, fire suppression and HVAC systems
