Draw, paint or try your hand on the potter’s wheel. At North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre visual arts opportunities abound. In addition to our registered arts programs, we offer studio memberships for established artists, custom programs for groups, birthday parties for kids, school arts programs for all ages, and a free Calgary Afterschool program.
 
At North Mount Pleasant, our specialty is ceramics. In fact, this facility contains over a dozen kilns including electric, gas and salt, and wood-fired. Build your own program guide.

About North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre

North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre has been offering fine arts classes and studio space to Calgarians of all ages and abilities for more than 25 years. Housed in a heritage property built as a school in 1913, North Mount Pleasant ceramics and visual arts classes are varied and will appeal to all levels of personal competency.

Facility features

This facility contains over a dozen electric, gas and specialty kilns, as well as classrooms dedicated to painting and drawing.

Our ceramics studio is a clean, modern, well-ventilated studio with abundant natural light. It is equipped with worktables, storage space, and a glaze kitchen with spray booth, damp room, and extensive small equipment. Studio members may choose to have their works fired in our electric, gas, salt, and wood kilns. Two ceramics technicians are available for consultation and support. Studio members have full use of the dedicated studio space at all times that the centre is open.
