Road construction projects

Transportation Infrastructure (TI) is responsible for many of the major road construction projects that take place in Calgary. Major road construction projects include construction of new road ways, rehabilitation and upgrades to existing roadways, intersection upgrades, and installation of interchanges.

Some of the recent projects TI has completed include work on Glenmore Trail at 5 Street and Elbow Drive, the 16 Avenue North Urban Corridor, and the overpass at Glenmore Trail and 37 Street S.W..

City-wide projects

TI is also responsible for some of the smaller road construction projects. The City of Calgary Roads Business Unit is also involved in construction of smaller road projects. To see which projects The City of Calgary Roads business unit is working on visit Roads.

Other road construction project taking place in Calgary may be the responsibility of the Province of Alberta. The Province oversees the operation and maintenance of Deerfoot Trail and is constructing the Calgary Ring Road. For more information on Provincial road projects visit Alberta Transportation
