 Plastic - Single-serve coffee packages

Residential

Throw it out

Plastic, aluminum and other single-serve coffee pods are not currently accepted in blue carts or community recycling depots. Even if the coffee grounds are removed, the plastic cups and discs are too small and light for the machines at the recycling facility to sort them properly. Throw them out in your black cart.
Some single-serve manufacturers have developed their own recycling solutions. Check with your manufacturer for details. Examples include: Keurig K-Cup (K-Cups), Tassimo, Nespresso, etc.

Commercial

Recycle it

Depending on the type of plastic, private recycling opportunities may exist. Visit recyclinghotline.ca and search for the specific type of plastic for more information.
