My office has received numerous messages from parents living in the Nolan Hill area and with students who attend Robert Thirsk High School. This year, Robert Thirsk is the designated school for multiple families in Nolan Hill, but unfortunately, students have been without adequate access to bus routes. This has left working parents with few options, as students have been faced with long commutes or would have to walk long distances to access public transit.

My office has been working with Calgary Transit to find a solution to this problem. We've heard your concerns, and The City has taken action.

Starting on Monday, October 16, Calgary Transit is introducing a new bus service to help alleviate these concerns. This new school route 771 will start with service between Robert Thirsk and Beacon Hill, offering a quicker trip for students in the morning and afternoon.

This service will significantly reduce travel time, granting students more time for rest and activities. By cutting down on lengthy commutes, The City aims to boost academic performance and student well-being, ensuring every journey to school is safe.

Your feedback has driven this change, and we're grateful for your patience. For more details or questions about this service or other Ward 2 matters, contact our office at ward2@calgary.ca.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we strive towards bettering our community together.
