Independent Ceramic Studio Access
Our ceramic studio is modern, well-ventilated and has abundant natural light. Ceramists are able to work independently with supervision from expert staff. It is an extension of our programmed spaces and is designed for clay artists to develop their skills while working in community.
Who can apply for independent studio access?
Use of our ceramic studio is for adult ceramists (18+) who can work without instruction and have completed the following prerequisites.
- Exhibit a sufficient understanding of the materials, tools, equipment, and processes required to safely work in the studio.
- Have completed (at least twice) all three levels of clay courses NMPAC or WFAC offers. Equivalent experience may be considered through an interview process.
- Have attended a mandatory Orientation & Safety session as coordinated by staff (allow 90 mins).
We are unable to accommodate production potters or high-volume producers (output is monitored).

Scheduling time in our studios
A minimum monthly package of 12 hours must be purchased before your first working visit to the studio. Additional hours can be purchased in 3-hour increments. Any unused hours will expire at the end of each month and cannot be rolled forward.
The studio is accessible during operational hours. Refer to seasonally posted hours of operation, as well as closures for statutory holidays, long weekends, and unique custom program bookings as coordinated by the Arts Centres.
Participants are required to clean-up before departing the facility. Allowing at least one-half hour for clean-up is recommended and should be included in your scheduled appointment.
Independent studio access rates and fees
Packages are booked monthly, first-come first-served. You can book a minimum of 12 hours per month. Upgrade costs based on increments.
Fees are paid at the office prior to the first visit.

Applications are accepted on completion of the qualifiers and are subject to space availability. Contact the Arts Centres directly.

Safety guidelines and conditions
All patrons are expected to uphold safety measures which create safe spaces for themselves, staff and others. For safety and space reasons we are unable to accommodate guests such as children, friends, or family. Detailed information is covered in the orientation.
