Ungroomed areas in Calgary

Parks and schoolyards offer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities, but unless it's immediately after a snowfall, skiable areas can be rough due to competing uses such as pedestrians, dog walkers and cyclists. Some more popular ungroomed areas include:

Confederation Park Golf Course - Driving Range Ski Trails Pilot Program

Calgary Recreation and Foothills Nordic Ski Club (FNSC) have worked in partnership to provide cross country ski trails at Confederation Park Golf Course for more than 20 years, and we are now adding new trails designed for adults and kids ski programs.

The City is committed to active lifestyles. Enhancing the programming opportunities for Calgarians in the winter maximizes the year-round usage of public recreation facilities.

Ski trails for this pilot program will be built on Confederation Park Golf Course’s driving range and FNSC will make and farm snow when required for the 2016/2017 winter season. Some lighting will be provided on the driving range, and the golf course parking lot will be available for participants.
