Let our Certified Personal Trainers help you achieve your fitness goals. Sessions include an interview and needs assessment and a personalized fitness program design, based on this information. We offer individual or group training for strength and cardio, and training in the water.

Individual and group training

  Personal Strength and Cardio Training: The focus can be on sports performance, fitness levels, or rehabilitation.

~  Personal Training in the Water: In either shallow or deep water, work on strength, cardiovascular endurance, speed, power, flexibility and increased range of motion. A combination of land and water fitness can be accommodated.

  Team Sport Training: Develop a results orientated training program for pre, competitive or off-season. Workouts will concentrate on reaction time, agility, coordination, skill, speed, balance, power and core stability using various tools.

Personalized Program Design

Are you just getting started or want to enhance your workout? Get motivated with a certified trainer who will work within your fitness level to develop a personal training program to suit your needs and goals! 

General fitness testing and nutritional/lifestyle information will be included. Available at all of our fitness locations. Call 311 for more information.

Cost: $120.00 for a 1.5 hour session.

Private pilates reformer training

In a private Pilates Reformer session, your imbalances will be assessed and exercises designed according to your goals using the Reformer to attain stronger abdominals, improved coordination and body alignment. These sessions aim to reduce physical stress and tension and develop ease of movement throughout the body. Pilates Reformer Training benefits inactive individuals and highly trained athletes.

External Personal Training

For safety reasons, The City of Calgary does not permit outside personal training. Personal training at the City of Calgary is restricted to only those individuals who are specifically employed by the City of Calgary for the purpose of being a Personal Trainer. If you wish to use the service of a Personal Trainer within a City facility, it must be with one of our highly qualified and certified Personal Trainers.

Individuals suspected of providing personal training with a patron will be asked to cease the activity.  An individual may be approached and questioned regarding unauthorized personal training if he/she appears to be exhibiting any of the following behaviours (but not limited to):

  • Explaining and providing exercise directions to a patron or group of patrons.
  • Assisting a patron with technique, or any specific instruction, but not exercising with that individual during all portions of the workout.
  • Directing exercise order or duration for a patron.
  • Assisting a patron with equipment and adjustments.
  • Writing and/or designing a fitness or workout program for a patron.
