 Mercury thermometers

Residential:

Dispose of it safely

Package thermometers in a puncture resistant, non-breakable, sealed container like a plastic bleach bottle. Label the container as "thermometer" or "mercury", with a permanent marker and take it to one of The City landfill Throw 'n' Go areas or designated fire stations as part of the Household Hazardous Waste Program.
NOTE: Call 911 if a thermometer, thermostat, or wall-mounted blood pressure cuff is broken and mercury is released.

Commercial:

Dispose of it safely

For large commercial quantities of mercury thermometers, complete an online service request or contact 311. Charges will apply.
NOTE: Call 911 if a thermometer, thermostat, or wall-mounted blood pressure cuff is broken and mercury is released.
