How to file an appeal

To appeal a decision of The City of Calgary Planning Department you must submit a Notice of Appeal form and pay the $200 appeal fee within the filing deadline. All appellants must be identified by name when filing subdivision and development appeals. The appeal filing fee is refundable if an appeal is withdrawn prior to the commencement of the hearing, or at the discretion of the Board if the hearing has commenced.

Submitting an appeal online

It is not necessary to come to the SDAB’s office to file an appeal. Simply follow this link to file an SDAB appeal online. Please note that the deadlines for filing a notice of appeal still apply.

You may also choose to file your appeal by paper by downloading, printing and completing the Notice of Appeal form

Place the appeal and $200 fee payment in a securely closed envelope to the SDAB office on the 4th floor or in our dropbox on the 1st floor of the building, in the back hallway (past the elevators), near the postal mailboxes.
