Construction continues on the 6 Street S.E. Underpass. Starting in July, work began along the south side of the CPKC rail corridor between 11th and 12th Avenue S.E., where crews are widening the roadway, improving sidewalks and crossings, as well as installing new traffic signals and streetlights. Along the north side of the rail corridor, crews completed the foundation for the lift station, which will help manage stormwater and support drainage within the future underpass.
Work is also continuing along 9 Avenue S.E., where crews are advancing roadway, utility and drainage infrastructure upgrades to support future phases of underpass construction. Crews are also progressing work on the bridge foundations that will support the future rail bridge over the underpass.
