How to compost garden soil and potting soil

Put into your green cart
Put all types of soil into your green cart for composting.
- Fill your green cart first. Carts have a 60 kg weight limit. If you can easily roll your cart, it should be ok.
- If your green cart is full, use paper yard waste bags and roll the tops closed. Paper yard waste bags have a 20 kg weight limit. If you can pickup the bag with one hand, it should be ok.
- Set rolled up paper yard waste bags 0.5m (2 ft) to the side of your green cart on collection day. Do not lean bags on top or beside the cart.
Special instructions
- Put empty garden soil bags into the blue cart for recycling.
- If you have a Big Yellow Bag landscaping soil bag, bring to the Calgary Horticultural Society for proper recycling.
