Council and committee meetings
The City of Calgary has public Council and committee meetings where City business is discussed. There are a number of meetings each week and many are open to the public for viewing as well as for Calgarians to speak about items on the agenda they are concerned about.
How to get involved in Council and Committee meetings

Check - Council or committee meeting agenda progress at www.calgary.ca/agenda
Participate - To participate in a public hearing or standing policy committee (SPC) Meeting, please complete the public submission form. Meetings where the public can participate are indicated on the top of the meeting agenda and noted on the Council and Committee calendar. Submit - Public wishing to submit a written comment to Council or committees may do so using the public submission form.
Speak - Public wishing to speak are encouraged to participate remotely. Email the City Clerk’s Office at publicsubmissions@calgary.ca to register and to receive further information on how to call in.
Review – See how Council voted on the City Council Meeting Vote Dashboard. The dashboard displays Council member votes on agenda items. Vote data is displayed after the meeting minutes are confirmed. There could be up to a month delay in the data being displayed. This process is in place to ensure correct information is provided.
COVID precautions
To make a written submission or register to speak, use the Public Submission Form. Public wishing to speak are encouraged to participate remotely. Information on how to call in will be provided after registration.
