Safely dispose of residential and RV solar panels for free at a City Eco Centre – if you bring other garbage, charges will apply.

If you have more than five solar panels, or have commercial-use panels or volumes to recycle, please contact ARMA (Alberta Recycling Management Authority) at renewables_claims@albertarecycling.ca  or 1-888-999-8762 to arrange disposal.

• Residents are responsible for unloading their own solar panels into the appropriate Eco Centre storage area.
• Separate damaged or broken panels from those still intact and place them in designated collection areas.
• If your solar panel is over 1m², please place it face-down on the provided pallets (with the junction box facing up). If your solar panel is under 1m², place it in the provided crates.
• Small appliances and electronics with embedded solar PV cells are not included. Please continue to recycle these items in the designated electronics recycling bins located in each Eco Centre, or your local electronics store (where applicable).
• Do NOT put panels in your blue cart as these items can damage the equipment at the recycling facility.
