North Central Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) improvements

While planning continues to bring future Green Line LRT service to the north, immediate improvements to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor on Centre Street are underway. This work is partially funded by Green Line and is part of the progression towards LRT service in north central Calgary.

Construction took place at eight BRT stations on Centre Street North from Country Hills Boulevard to 28 Avenue. It included upgrading the existing Route 301 BRT stops to MAX standards with heated shelters, larger platforms, passenger information screens and improved lighting.
BRT stations between 28 Avenue and Beddington Blvd were upgraded in 2024 and were operational by January 2025. The stations at Country Hills Blvd and 96 Avenue were upgraded in spring/summer 2025 and were operational by August 2025.
