114-Barlow Elevated Guideway
This project will deliver a new elevated guideway structure at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E., helping extend the Green Line through southeast Calgary. The work builds on previously completed infrastructure and represents another major milestone in construction.
Scope of Work
Construction of the elevated guideway at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E. will add approximately 570 metres of new elevated track for the Green Line. The project includes building the structures that support the guideway, including bridge supports, girders and a reinforced deck.
To connect the elevated structure to ground level, crews will build retaining walls that provide a smooth and stable transition along the guideway approaches. The work also includes grading, drainage improvements and other site upgrades to support the long-term performance of the infrastructure.
Additional activities will include temporary construction works, traffic management and environmental protection measures to support the safe delivery of the project.

July 2026 Update
Construction activities are getting underway at the 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E. guideway project, with the contractor mobilizing equipment, materials and crews to the site this month. This work marks the transition from Graham's previous contract, which completed the foundation work and other preparatory improvements needed to support the next phase of construction.
Throughout July and into August, crews will focus on setting up the site for the new scope of work, including establishing construction areas, organizing equipment and preparing for upcoming guideway construction activities.
Planning is also underway for future traffic detours that will be required to safely accommodate construction. More information on upcoming traffic impacts and detour routes will be shared with the public before work begins.
