114-Barlow Elevated Guideway

This project will deliver a new elevated guideway structure at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail S.E., helping extend the Green Line through southeast Calgary. The work builds on previously completed infrastructure and represents another major milestone in construction.

Scope of Work

Construction of the elevated guideway at 114 Avenue and Barlow Trail SE will add approximately 570 metres of new elevated track. The work includes building key structural elements such as abutments, piers, straddle bents, pre-cast girders and a reinforced bridge deck.

To support the guideway approaches, crews will construct Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls, creating a smooth and stable transition between ground level and the elevated structure. Additional civil works, including grading and drainage improvements, will help ensure the guideway performs reliably for years to come.

The project also includes temporary works and site management activities needed to safely build the permanent infrastructure, along with environmental protection measures where required.

This work builds on previously completed pile foundations, roadway adjustments and utility relocations delivered under a separate contract. Together, these efforts will support a seamless transition between contractors and keep the project moving forward efficiently.
